Herb drain system... what to do with noise

How should I quiet the noise... Its making a lil gargling noise right now. Do I open the valve all the way or close it..

Is the point to have a full siphon the the main pipe by closing the valve enough based on the return pump? I tried closing the gate valve but it still gargles.

Yes, typically you want to close the gate valve on the main drain until the water level raises to the emergency drain and just a small amount of water flows through it.
