For my herbie overflow design, I've got 1" holes drilled, should I keep the overflow standpipes 1" or expand them to 1.5"?

A 1" siphon and a 1" emergency should be large enough for a 90 gallon, as long as your return pump isn't oversized.

FYI, a 1" hole won't fit a 1" bulkhead. Something about 1 3/4" is needed.

I have a cor 20 pump, but right now it's on the second to lowest setting because of the double durso setup the previous owner had and the flushing issues...

I have 1" bulkheads (1 3/4" holes) going to 1.5" pipe on my bean-adjacent overflow in my 110. I only use a sicce 3 right now, so the circulation rate through the sump is low, especially for an excommunicated disciple of flow, but that piping is oversized for my pump. I notice it on start-up, I have to take an active process in purging the air from the line and re-establishing strong flow in my ATS. I planned for that and have a purge to open, then close, but I'd need a higher flow-rate to re-establish flow on its own.
I guess what I'm saying is you probably don't have to expand to 1.5 on the standpipes as long as the rest of your piping is somewhat matched and downhill. But unfortunately, if you really have 1" holes, you'll need a plan B, as those aren't even large enough for 1/2" bulkheads.
