Herbie Overflow

Hey guys and gals,

I am in the midst of a plumbing and sump redo. Due to a leak I caused (see my want a new sump thread)

Any way I have had my 180 running dual durso overflows for 10 years. I plumbed this sump doing the Herbie method. I cannot believ how quiet it is. I have to keep checking my pumps are running.

I was wondering what type of system you use. Is this or bean animal going to make Durso a thing of the past?

I have used Herbie before it was called that. Mid 90s

Amazingly quiet and easy to tune.

Never used a Durso but have heard them every time I go to the dentist or Dr’s office that have tanks. My first tank had a herbie which was silent 95% of the time and my last build I went Bean Animal and its now 100% of the time. Love it!

I heard of it around 2008 but tank was already running dursos

My only issue is I could not find a gate valve locally. Used ball but it’s hard to turmn making fine adjustment impossible.

I can actually fall asleep in my living room now.

Should be easy enough to swap out if you ever felt the need. Lots of folks use ball valves though.
