So I posted before and went to w different stores I buy supplies from and they refused to sell me any tangs and or blennies. Stated that the issue I am having is not what they are going to eat and solve my problem. They both had me do 2 different chemicals now. One chemiclean and then a water change and then flux ex. It has been running in system for 36 hrs. And this is still growing. I keep scrubbing the rock and have had to change my sump sock 2 times because it keeps getting clogged and cant rinse it out. Things I am putting in my tank is brine shrimp frozen. Reef fusion 1 and 2. Calcium and Kent's coral accelerator. I have already lost 3 small corals due to this cap suffocating it. What is this and what can I do about getting rid of it.. chemical fish idk what but it's got to go pic is attached.

Is it slimy to touch or does it blow off the rocks like powder?

In the pic look like diatoms but usually corals aren’t bothered unless really smothered by diatoms.

If slimy to touch and grows like brown algae Could be dinos. Very few chemicals work well IME. A UV would help with some dinos if they can be easily detached from rocks.

It is slimy to the touch. But flakes off like powder. I've already had a diatom spike and that went away. Did a water change and then this formed 2 weeks later and cant get rid of it. The pic shows 2 days after being scrubbed down.

If slimy then could be dinos.

I would give a UV a try, get a cheap Jebao pond UV ~50W they run around $70-80 on Amazon etc.

Take a powerhead and blow as much of it off the rocks and see if the UV works. You can do it a few times a day, just wait for the water to clear up. If dinos within a week you should see a sharp decline.

I’ve also had good luck dosing hydrogen peroxide but it takes time and doesn’t always work. 1-3ml 3% per 10 gal twice a day, it will take at least a week and likely 2 to work IME.

So like a uv sterlizer I have in the pic I'm attaching.

How many watts is that?

I had good success with this:

Jebao UV Clarifier Sterilizer for Aquarium Fish Pond Fountain

If I remember right its 18 or 24 watts

Ok I will thank you anyone else have any ideas it would greatly be appreciated.

agree with possible dino. What's your po4 and no3 numbers

When I tested po4 was nothing. No3 was safe it was not to high I cant remember the numbers but was alittle high but ideal
