Lol well not really. Soon as my son and I were set up two minutes into drill the first hole it started pouring lol so we had to wait in the porch for it to stop. Only took about 30 minutes for both holes. Should have seen the neighbors looking at the guys with a drill and a glass aquarium lol priceless. And then the reaction of my wife when untold her I drilled two holes in the tank. She is new to marine tanks.

Hah! Man don't forget that I live right down the street. I got all kinds of looks when I drilled my 40. People in this neighborhood don't seem to like the noise very much :P

Very true! Def need to check out your tank soon. Its always nice to have someone that can appericate what it takes for our little treasures and all the work we pour into them. Looking at trim designs on other tanks to get ideas. Wife wants it to have a matching furniture look to match the house furniture

Unfortunately I'm going to be gone most of the day today. We can try to catch up sometime this week though. You can come see 7 fish crammed into a hospital tank :P

Ut oh tank issues ?

Starting on canopy today.

Yeah. Added an eibli tang a couple weeks ago. Was stupid and didn't QT him. I was trying a hurry-up method to get my 120 a bit dirty as it's still running way too clean. The rest of the story is unsurprising. Eibli breaks out in ich, fish start to die, I remove everyone to a 40 breeder and start treating with copper.

Might be best to wait until I get everything put back together in a couple months. It's highly unimpressive right now lol

Hey at least you have water in your tanks lol always a upside. Wife and I are headed to Lowes to look at trim and such for the stand and canopy. Seems she is getting on board with the tank. Always a plus :)

Hah! True indeed. Though lately I'm blowing through far too much water (and salt!) with setting up QT, hospital, plus my regular water changes lol

Well I finished the main frame of the stand built yesterday, still have to do all the sheeting. I have enough spare ply to do the bottom inside so will do that today. Talked to aqueon and they said the tank is only tempered on the front. And I kept researching and found its not a 39 but actually a 36. Even the tech docks I found say its not tempered so going to do this polarized sunglass test to confirm and if its a go will be drilling the back today. Planning on doing 2 holes for the over flow and 2 returns. Here's a shot of the stand. Pay no attention to my son photo bombing me lol
I have drilled A LOT of tanks. The only ones I won't are the 55g tanks that literally say do not drill, all panes are tempered. 99% out there just have tempered bottoms.

Also it reads like this "do not drill, all panes tempered" so its not like the typical orange sticker under the bottom pane of glass. Also these stickers are usually on the front of the tank under the trim so when you flip the tank over to drill you are staring down through the glass at the sticker.
