Can i paint my tank back after it it's up and running? It wont hurt the live stock? I'm guessing i shouldn't use spray paint for itAnd also, the tank I have now (biocube) came with a black background but the 75g I had before I just painted the back with a small roller and exterior water resistant paint and it held up fine

Just a little look at the scape. gonna add sand next and water salt tonight
You are going to wait until Ammonia and Nitrite are both zero. You may hit 3ppm ammonia, you may hit 5.. whatever the number is it is. Just make sure that both ammonia and Nitrite are zero before adding inhabitants. Here we go! First not super cloudy pic. It's still bit hazy but biospira said no skimmer for 2 days so I hope it clears up when plug in the skimmer tomorrow. Are those the type of shrimp everyone talks about lol? As for testing for ammonia do I do it every day or a week? Also I've read I want it to be 3 ppm can anyone confirm that?

Depends.. being only a day and a half I would hold tight. And yes, Ammonia and Nitrite can both go up at the same time. Thank the bacteria culture you added earlier. Both going up means 2 things. A. the shrimp is doing it's job by adding ammonia, and B. the bacteria are doing their job by breaking ammonia into Nitrite. Soon you will start seeing Nitrate which is also a good thing.so do i need to keep adding shrimp if they deteriorate into nothing and still not getting ammonia? its only been day and half so maybe i need to wait more, just curious. did a test today seem ammonia is going up but so is nitrite. i thought the ammonia would rise first then nitrite. can they happen at the same time? im at about .25ppm of both right now
