Well, my hermit just ate my nass snail. This is prob like the 3rd snail he's eaten. I've had him for like 2 years now and he has gotten pretty big. Kinda hesitant to add more snails. I was thinking about adding atrea snails btw

Would my hermit hunt any snail I add or was this maybe because there wasn't enough food ??

This may be completely anecdotal but I have found that throwing some Piscine pellet food in daily regardless of what else I'm feeding keeps all of my inverts from eating each other. I don't think I've had any hermits go after Nass snails but other snails yes prior to using the pellets. You've also got a blue leg hermit there and you might want to let him live in a sump or fuge if its getting big and get red legs instead.

Hazard of having hermits. They do a good job with what they do, but not even astreas are safe, I have one of the exact species you have and he occupies a very large astrea shell. Just replace snails every 4-6 months.

I just buy more snails. As far as I can tell my hermits enjoy having lots of options for shells.

Get some empty snail shells of various sizes. Hermit crabs need to change houses every now and then, like most of us.
