I doubt it? I think that hermit crabs keep their eggs in their shells and release the larvae when they hatch. It looks more like something threw out a mucus net to catch pellets.

Eggs are that of Nerite snails

Any ideas what could of done this? tank livestock is established over many years recently upgraded to aio setup but nothing new added and I've not seen this before?

Well...what have you actively added to your tank? I’m willing to guess it’s not a fish that made this, so what inverts are there? Do you have those weird little snails that make mucus nets when there’s food in the water column?

Common pest, not easy to get rid of. They don't cause much damage. They can aggravate some corals, but rarely. I have seen an acan polyp get pierced by the tube of one before. They can be a danger to bare hands if you scrape against them. Lots of threads about it if you want to do more research. You will see them spit out their mucus net when you blow off the rocks with a turkey baster or during feedings. They catch detritus and food and pull the net back in.

Yes I was thinking verm snails as I've seen them before it's the red speres caught in the mucus I'm concerned about as I do not add anything similar to that to the tank so was wondering where they could come from hence original post hermit eggs ?
