Hi all,

Looking for some advice on what to feed my 3 hermit crabs, algae is starting to thin out now but I of course want them as perminant residents of the tank. Anyone reccomend some good food for them in the UK? they are dwarf blues.

Thanks in advance.

I've never fed solely for my CuC. They eat what ever is left over.

You can buy foods such as hikari crab cuisine, but if you read the ingredients it's full of none marine based foods such as wheat, you could use such a food but for me it's better to just buy the frozen food instead and feed that without all the wheat etc crabs don't just eat algae.

All depends on the size of your tank and what you feed and how much,,if you don't feed frozen I would start and if you feed pellets chances are the crabs are finding loads to eat anyway on the sandbed.

Just to add, consider if you have too many cuc or your tank is too young for the amount you have, you should be matching the number of cuc to your tank size, start feeding them and you are adding to the nutrients, which is counter to the reason for cuc, it's to reduce the nutrients not add to them.
