Hi all. I just started my new saltwater aquarium. Its a 13 g nano. I did complete my cycling few days back. Yestraday i first introduced my cleaner crew 4 hermit crabs and 4 snails. I have not introduced fish or coral yet. I am just worried because 3 of my crabs dosent move for long longtime. They just sit in the corner. I dont know weather they r dead or live. I dont want to handle them. Is this behaviouris usual? Any one having same experience? My parameters are good ph is 8.3. Pls help me with this issue.

Are you feeding them anything? And is the temperature ok? Still new to this but I was led to believe that Ph should be between 7.5-8. They do feed off the live rock etc but I do pop a reef stick in on occasion and they seem to enjoy them.

Well my temp is between 25-27. Try and feed them a bit of food and see how they go. I'm presuming you have tested your water etc. they do seem pretty hardy tho.

They tend to sit still somehwere for 2-3 days during the time they shed their skin/exoskelleton(don't know the scientific word)
But 3 newly introduced ones doing that at the same time seems would be fairly rare i guess.
Just wait it out for 2-3 days or try and tip one on the side with thongs to see if there is something alive in there.
They are pretty hardy animals, i can't imagine how far off some water params have to be to kill them really.
Good luck with them:-)
