Hermit crabs

So most of my shells have gotten partial buried or have sand in them, will a hermit crab still use those and clean out sand?

Yes they will. Some are more lazy than others though. They are more likely to clean them out than unbury them.

Thank you I went and un dug them until the goby gets ticked cause one is in his way and creates a mountain on top of it
