Hermit Homicide - - - beginner advice please!

Happy Monday everyone!

On Saturday I upgraded my clean up crew as you can see in my build thread.
This morning I woke up and my polka dot hermit crab was in my red tip hermit crabs shell.
Anyways... Question is...the old hermit shell is still in my tank.. Should I remove this shell or leave it as a spare.

I’d leave it as it should be empty. You may want to get some extra empty shells and keep them on hand if you get more hermits. Last time I bought hermits, I put them in with extra empty shells and they immediately began to swap them out. With extras they won’t have a need to take one by force. Usually your LFS should be able to give you spare shells from their hermit tank.

Ok thank you for the response. I am am glad it was only 1.99 but sucks losing my first livestock
