yea yea yea , in low , the bra is stinging it , it's brown , bla bla bla

It's supposed to be a Miami orchid. Brown with light brownish lavender pinkntips. I got those. Its a brown coral. Was cheap, one of my training acros. It. has completely taken off and tabled despite my abuse.

Here's the head scratcher. I moved it recently to this spot , it growing well and is annoying to my clown fish. Perfect.

Here's the thing , some of the new growth is .... in the shade.

The long tips under the main colony are all new growth.

If you are using LED lighting and have multiple LEDs or at least T5 supplements it’s probably getting enough light to be growing.
Agreed , but it is directly under the light in complete shadow from thencoral above. It is also a few inches from the glass.
I have a stylo on the other side that is lightly shaded by its own growth and losing polyps at the base. It's brighter there.

Are you saying water soaks into a grit on your stove faster than anyplace else on earth? :p
Hahahaha.

Trying to figure out why is growing in light barely enough for a shroom and not enough for bubble alge

My guess is light reflection is getting to that spot.
It would have to be yea. But it's still the darkest part of the tank. And it's growing like a weed. It's faster the the colony on top. And I forgot to Mention. It's 3in from the bottom of the tank.

All I see are the water streaks coming down the glass... hahaha

Got a par meter? The eye is terrible at it. Might be more par than you think!

Oh I'm aware it could be 300 in the light and some in the the shade but...

It's going tonnena trick getting a sensor down there. Still we gotta be talking about 100 par or less.

What about nutrients in the water? Maybe it's getting just enough "nutrition" for the zoox and the elements building the skeleton causing a fast growth rate to reach more light? It looks to be a different growth pattern as well. Just an idea?
Would I be wrong in assuming that the new growth in this situation would likely be a different color?
