Hi everyone I have a 29 gallon biocube that has lots of live rock and corals. I currently have 1 black clownfish (not too big, maybe 2 inches), a six line wrasse, a scooter blenny, and a fire goby along with some hermit crabs and other some cleaning crew members. I'm wondering if my tank is already too stocked. I was also thinking about trading my six line wrasse for a clown. Maybe also down the road I might trade my blenny for mandarin. If I did these changes could I fit maybe one more fish. I've also heard that six line wrasses tend to be mean and will bother the other fish, is that true? Last question, Does anyone know any nice-looking fish that can be tank-raised(some smaller fish would be great)? Thanks!

A Red Headed Goby or Gold Line Goby might fit. Not sure on the bio load for a 29 myself.

Having a 29 cube is hard to pick the right fish.
Yes it can be true about the six line especially in a 29 cube.
I won't put another clown in there as the existing clown might go after it bad
As mentioned goby's are good fish to have or the smaller cardinals.
Maybe two fire shrimp, pygmy wrasses are good to for a 29 cube.
Have any pics of that amazing cube?

No sorry I don't have a camera to take the pics sry :( Is there any really beautiful little fish (tank-raised if you can) that u know of?

Check out ORA's website they have a good selection of tank raised fish or check out LA or DD.

I have a 25. And I'm over stocked. LOL

- 2 clowns
- 1 chromis
- 1 six line wrasse
- 1 Lyretail Anthias

I feed seaweed pellets in the morning and regular pellets in the afternoon, then fish eggs (reef caviar) at night. Some frozen food (rods food and PE mysis) twice a week. So far so good, my tank didn't crash yet. LOL

My po4 ranges from 0.04-0.06. No3 is 5, used to be zero, but I turn my skimmer off during the day, because people told me corals need some no3.

Nice sounding tank but overstocked with that lyretail anthias. How often do you clean your tank?

I clean the glass everyday even if I don't see dirt. But one time I got super busy for several days, i started to see some stuff after 3 days. I also wash my felt socks twice a week. They're going to overflow in 5-6 days.

Drop the felt sock for the mesh or cut holes in them as later on you really like the extra No3 back in your tank to keep your corals colorful and the bacteria load working for you.

I like the mesh idea. I hate cleaning the felt. LOL

See if there's an available mesh socks for my tank (IM 25 lagoon). Otherwise, I will just modify the ones I have. Thanks for the tip.

So diesel does the felt trap the nitrate? And build up PO4 I thought nitrates would pay through?

Nope not one filter sock traps them but only the big particles in the water.
To be sure you want low No3 and Po4 if you prefer switch out filter socks felt or mesh everyday.
In that case the big particles won't turn small and will be removed.
I for one did this for a month and No3 dropped to 1 ppm with holes in my felt socks I can maintain No3 around 6ppm with out dosing any No3.
If I need to make some close up pics from my tank I make sure I drop in a felt sock without the holes 24 hour prior, super clean crystal clear water ;)

That's a great tip!
