Yo yo crys, welcome!
Glad you joined up to get the full depth of the knowledge base here. Seems like you have done some research prepping and have a good start. As others have said, be patient. Learn for your tank as it develops. Never stop asking questions and finding the answers. R2R is a brilliant place for facts, anecdotes and plenty of shenanigans! Enjoy the reefing madness!

I’m 19 from the gta and have been very interested in getting into saltwater aquariums, after countless hours of research, speaking to enthusiasts/experts, reading forums, and watching many YouTube videos I felt I was ready to start.

I’ve recently began my venture with reef keeping. I have an IM 20 basic setup with black live sand and about 20lbs of dry rock. At the moment I have 2 mocha Ocellaris clownfish to help me with cycling the tank (used dr Tim’s). I plan to add a light in a couple months.

I’ll definitely be needing you’re guys’ help as I go further into my journey.

I feel like it should be illegal to start a SW tank with anything but clownfish. Welcome...... and it’s too late to turn back now lol

Welcome! This hobby can be as simple or as complex as you want. Unless you want sticks this hobby is very easy with consistent water changes from a good water source, a good light (at the right power level, start low) and the right salt for your goals. Dont feed those fish too much, they will act like they are hungry all the time but they will do just fine on as little as 10 pellets a week. Excessive feeding = excessive algae, which opens a pandoras box of issues. Find someone whos tank and philosophy you want to emulate and follow their advise. If you take advise from new people all the time you will just be spinning your wheels and tour tank will never reach its full potential. Good luck and have fun!

I started with research on forums and videos as well! Favorites include Tidal garden videos, the inappropriate reefer, and BRS! Patience and planning are definitely the keys to success!

Welcome to R2R and happy reefing!
