Hey Every one I heard about this forum in a couple of the other forums where I am a member so anyways decided to come join here also. Little about my tank: Its a 125gl reef about 1 year 9 months old, Started out as a fish FOWLR tank with canister filters and using tap water, Slowly but surely I made mistakes and added to many fish and got ICH. Went with out fish for a couple months and started getting corals along with a PC light I had picked up. Ofcorse with the PC lighting I was limited to what corals I could get. After that I slowly worked my way to where I am at now. I switched over to a sump ( Actually 2 sumps connected toghether) I used to eshops 100 sumps and connected them in the middle using PVC Pipe. Worked out great, use one side as refugium and the other for my skimmer and reactors. Just recently added to MP40wes and I love them, also made a nice canopy and upgraded my lights to LED. Now im growing Some SPS and still LPS and my tank is looking pretty good from where it first started. Ofcorse im not Rich or anything so it has ben a slow process and will continue to be for a bit longer. Still plan on adding an addition overflow box and bigger return pump and hopefully upgrading my lights to some radions in the future. well her are some pics to show progress of my tank and also some pictures of a couple the corals I have. the canopy I made A Couple of my corals RBTA And Heres a little video From a couple months back with a couple frag additions to my tank, Most recent video I have made it for other forum. Very impressive! Any tips on coral growth? Or how to lower nitrates and keep them low? I'm new to this as well my tank in a 65gal long I'm running a dual carbon filter, a protein skimmer, 2 kessel a150w ocean blue LEDs, and a phosban reactor. I'm just curious on what products you have had success with I'm looking to get the most color and growth out of my corals as quickly as possible here's a quick pic of my tank.

Hey all thanks for the warm welcome, As far as my tank goes yeah I do think the LEDS have made a big difference, REEF ADDICT 01, as far as things I have learned its pretty much trial and error, Iv learned different things on different forums. As far as my tank goes I notice that Flow is KEY in keeping brown film algae at bay. So make sure you have plenty of flow, I also use a phosban reactor with aquamax GFO, but at the same time I also have bio pellet reactor and a refugium, I believe the refugium helps more that anything when it come to my tank and I have tested this out by diverting more flow to ether the refugium side or the side with all the equipment with skimmer and reactors, I always seem to get best results when I have about 75% flow going thru the refugium VS the equipment side. So if possible in your set up try and incorporate a refugium.
