Hi to all here at Reef 2 Reef. I'm new to the hobby and in the process of setting up my first tank.
I live in Cambodia which brings about a few challenges. For starters, I won't be needing any heaters. I have a fresh water tank and it sits at 29 celsius (84 Fahrenheit) without a heater. So I will be needing a chiller for the reef, which is unfortunately more expensive. I also don't really want to get a second chiller for a quarantine system, so any advice on possible workarounds are appreciated.
There's also a limited amount of suppliers here and only few options that offer shipping to here. I found a place though that makes custom tanks at really affordable prices. I guess that's the perk of being here
Unfortunately the Coronavirus situation is disrupting their supply chain, so the project might end up being delayed slightly. I at least got my RO/DI water system and will use the time to cure my rock (dry live rock).
I followed the advice to chose the largest system I can afford and fit to not having to upgrade any time soon and also to benefit from the larger water volume and buffering capacity, so I'll be getting a 120cm x 65cm x 65cm (47inch x 26inch x 26inch) tank with a sump.
I am planning a mixed reef with some easy community fish, nothing too fancy.
Anyways, happy to be here and look forward to meeting you all around here.
