New here and looking to get into the hobby. I'm doing lots of ready and watching YouTube videos. I'm looking for a 100 plus gallon drilled tank currently and in no rush. This forum is amazing with tons of info.

Welcome aboard, Travis!

Sounds like you're doing it the right way - doing the homework, learning the ins & outs - and at the same time feeding the dream by watching pretty fish & corals on YouTube!

You've also come to a place where any question you might have could possibly be answered in hours - which can be a very helpful bit of ammo to have in your arsenal!

Welcome home, you will love it here!

We are glad to have you and thanks for the compliments!

Keep us posted on your build!

So a friend found out about my dream and kinda hooked me up! A lot!!

180 gallon saltwater aquarium. Its set up for bio-ball filtration. Includes Eshopps S-300 skimmer, LED multicolor lighting, 2-Rio 3100 pumps, Coralife ultraviolet sterilizer. Tank measures 24" X 24" X 72". As shown, it stands 64 inches tall.

Time to up my reading and video watching.

Hot Dogg!!

You've got some pretty great friends there!

Most folks would probably toss the bio-balls, as they can become a "nitrate factory", but the sump they came in may still prove useful! You're on your way!!

I plan on using live rock. Seems to be the better choice.

I agree!

If you wanted to add some extra bio-capacity to the sump, there are blocks and balls of a sort of foamy ceramic that offer _gobs_ of surface area for bacterial colonization. Not needed, but an available option.
