I am new here. I have a 60 cube, with a eshopps nano cube sump with ELos 120 Skimmer.

What is everyone working with as in Sump ? Is bigger better ? I just found out mine is rated for up to 35 gallons.

I am considering getting the eshopps medium cube or the trigger cube .

Generally yeah, bigger is better... Bigger means more water volume, which in turn means a more stable system...

Looking at what you have, a 60 gallon display tank with a 12(ish) gallon sump, you could do for a slightly larger one, especially if you want to add more gear. That said, I have a 65 gallon display tank witha 20 gallon sump and it is just fine. With an ATO and regular water changes, I find it super stable. I have had in the past a 65 gallon display tank with a 55 gallon sump and there was no difference in stability.

If I were in your shoes, with a stable system and the skimmer (and other equipment) fit in the sump and kept up with the load; I would not change a thing...

What is your motivation to upgrade your sump?

Yeah, the eshopps medium cube sump or better the trigger cube sump 100% better because the eshopps nano its to small for 60g

I run a 40 gallon sump diy

My motivation is to keep my tank stable. Im not happy with the return flow. My fuge is being overgrown. My corals are not growing. My parameters look good.

Going to look into trigger cube.

Definitely go with a trigger! I love my trigger though it's not even running yet...buddy has one going, wish the fuge was a bit bigger. They could of cut back on return pump area but I think think it's the best option for a 24x24 stand.

I just bought a 90 gallon tank. I'm going to start focusing on that one and slowly get rid of the 60 cube. Not happy with the flow
