Hi all. New to salt water tanks and nearly finishing 3rd week of cycling with live rock and iv noticed this purple jelly thing on one of the live rocks and really unsure what it is. I thought maybe purple algae but it looks different and I cannot I'd what it is and if I need to get rid of it any help would be amazing thanks

Mine hasn't really changed at all. It's stayed a little purple blob in one of the crevices in my rock. If it is something bad, it hasn't shown any signs yet.

Looks to be a sponge of some sort based upon your description.

Definitely nothing to be worried about unless it starts to spread and take over corals.

Thanks guy. Going to keep an eye on it, another user seemed to think it could be cyano.
