Hi, my name is Alex. I'm from Stockholm, Sweden. Last week a friend of mine took me to pet store where they have many many kinds a saltwater fishes such as clownfishes, butterflyfishes. I really feel in love in this new world, so i started to read on the internet what should man think first about when planing to make a saltwater aquarium. So, i found Reef2reef.com and i think i will find here all the information i need to start my own saltwater aquarium.
Take care everybody.

Welcome to R2R. I would suggest going with the biggest setup you can comfortably afford. The more water a system has, the more stable it will be. Next I would decide the fish you want. This will help you decide if you can do a reef with corals and invertabrates or a setup with just fish and rock. Go slow, ask questions, and read everything you can before buying stuff.

Welcome...my advice would be start slow and be patient. Reef keeping success does not happen over night and if it does it does not last. True reef keeping success comes through patience and knowledge.

Imo I would recommend a smaller setup like a nano tank. They are cost effective and if you make a mistake it won't set up back a fortune. Start with a 12 gallon nano cube or something. It is true the larger the tank the more stable they are due to a larger water volume. A shift in salinity in 12 gallons is a lot different than it would be in 50 so smaller tanks do require more attention but I started with small tank and their still my some of my favorites!

You can learn how to maintain the fish and corals and water quality and if you like it you can then move to a larger tank.

Hi Alex, all the way from Sweden!! Welcome to R2R!!

Thanks everybody for welcoming new members so great !! :) That's right i'm gonna start slow with this project cause i will want to know what i'm doing instead of just buying different types of stones and fishes and check if they could maybe live. The idea is to try to offer the fishes a nice and comfortable place to live in and give also my home a very nice touch with a salt water tank setup. Thank again everybody. I'll come back soon with my questions ;)
