Okay, i need advice on what you think i should do. As i stated in the meet and greet, I'm paralyzed due to ALS. I have my daughters take care of my aquarium. I do the research and tell them what to do. I'm having a hard time trying to get my one daughter to make RO/DI water and do water changes. So i'm thinking about getting rid of my 40 gallon breeder and getting a Fluval evo 12. This way the water changes will be about 1 1/2 gallons and i can pay about $8 a month for RO / DI and Premixed saltwater. All i have is two clownfish in the 40 right now. Does this make sense to you or should i just forget about aquariums? The evo looks like it should be easy to maintain and they won't have to carry buckets. Thoughts? Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yeah, those Clowns can get pretty big 4-5" when mature. Small tanks work best with nano sized fish for the small bio load. Lots of very cool nano sized fish that would live comfortably in the evo 12: <<< firefish, gobies, Six Line Wrasses, Dottybacks, etc.

Sorry about the ALS:( I hope you are having a wonderful weekend as well! My 3-4 yr old female clown has topped out at 3 inches. Though two of them might be slightly large for a 13 gallon. You could reduce to a 20 gallon all in one from innnovative marine. That would fit the two clowns and some other smaller fish. You would only have to do 2-3 gallon changes out of a 5 gallon bucket. Though getting a rodi unit can be slightly pricy($130-150), it would save the trip fetching water.

Also, I'm not sure if you've seen this video but this tank would really fit your situation and needs. However, it may not fit your coral preference. Either way it's a good video to watch and an inspiring tank that doesn't see water changes at all. Keep in mind, the tanks maturity is what makes this tank. However, coral selection will help with lighting, nutrients, dosing, and how long between water changes.

sorry to hear about your situation :( I agree if reefing brings some happiness to you I say keep it going.
another option is join a reef club and see if you can smooth talk another reefer to come help out from time to time.
good luck and happy reefing!
