Hey everyone!
I have been on and off keeping freshwater fishes for a while, mostly off sadly.
My wife and I stayed at an Airbnb, and it had an amazing reef tank. And that was it - we caught the bug!
As soon as we moved into our house, the first piece of furniture was a 180L tank. It's set up with a canister filter, as I wanted to learn before dropping lots of $$.
It's been a year or so now, but I think I've learnt a lot. I've been lucky thus far - everything went (amazingly) according to those "how-to" guides.
Been a long-time lurker, but finally decided to join the forum and get involved (read: finally have a problem I can't seem to solve haha).
Anyways, we're looking forward to making new friends!!

Welcome nick and Mandy .
Reefing can be a very rewarding hobby but it can also be the most frustrating at the same time .
Take your time and let everything mature naturally . Nothing good happens fast
Plan what you want to have before making impulse purchases

feel free to ask any questions . There are plenty of knowledgeable members to help you succeed

Hi Nick and Mandy! Lisa and Michael here. Welcome! Glad you joined. We share my tank too.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
