The wife and I wanted to get into saltwater again,
(we have dabbled in the past with limited success ) so we picked up a 120 tall with custom stand and hood on the used market.
Moved it! (Ugh) lol ! and now we are getting the salt right.
Starting equipment that came with:

Sunsun304b,

2 power-heads- unknown brand.

On order: 3 gallon tetra half- moon tank (for possible in- tank refugium once the bio load increases)

2 50/50 xho reefbrites
And 2 blue reefbrites

One of those fancy bricks from brightwell that I plan to use in - tank. for now ..
stashed under rock.

Strategy for now with a light biological load is to use the sunsun for mechanical filtration. Get my rock drilled and algae seeded. A few fish. Lights mounted.

Biological will be in -tank for now as I don't want to drill it. A no- drill sump plan may come later.
That thick glass on tall tanks and all.....

Next is to work toward upping my flow game down the road and test- kits and chemicals as the tank grows.
I only plan on only keeping easy to maybe intermediate stuff.
We have a small 30 tall with a little rock and a few fish to start up. No inverts because the light is just a single full spectrum florescent.
It is in our bar room so colored led is the room lighting.
Tell me if in screwing up!

So we have added rock, 2 Tangs, ( a dusky and a mimic) 2 sponges, one red one orange, and a few cleanup crew.
I made reef chili today.
At the Asian market i found baby dried sardines, 2 kinds of dried unsalted kelp, frozen cuttlefish and mixed seafood, ordered some organic spirulina and a little organic riced cauliflower.
Blender on low in batches, and blended and frozen.
My lights are now 6 days late so I will update pics when they are installed.

Welcome to R2R. im new here but not new to the hobby. Best advice take your time. This is a marathon not a race. If you rush it you will empty your wallet quickly with dead livestock.

Good luck with your build.

Update pics. Lights are on- all 4 as of today. The 2 50/50 lights have been up about 3 weeks. Going through the ugly stage with some brown algae but I think I am seeing a few small spots of coraline algae growth.
Some big pacific snails are working away at the brown stuff though.
I have 2 50/50 XHO lights running 8 hrs a day and today 2- 9" standard reefbrite blue lights running 24/7.
Opine on this plan please! It OS a 120 gal tall so I think the 24/7 blues will make a low par "nightlight/ view light"
