Hello all,
My name is Graham and I'm relatively new to the saltwater/reef aquarium keeping. I've been maintaining a 135 gallon reef tank since June 2012. I have loved every minute of it! The 135 is going great! We are always on the look out for interesting corals and fish at our LFS and those in the surrounding area. The tank currently has 1 starry blenny, 1 yellow tang, 1 pygmy cherub angelfish, probably 50 hermits (blue and red leg), 20 astrea snails, 2 Mexican turbo snails, and around 20 corals (LPS and SPS). One thing that I have had to learn through this process is patience! I'm currently a graduate student working on a Ph.D. in Parasitology. My work is with myxozoan parasites of fish (channel catfish specifically), but I have an interest in all forms of infectious disease. I hope to be able to offer my opinions on controlling infectious disease when setting up a display tank. One word is key here: Quarantine!!!! I think this is enough information about me and I look forward to many engaging conversations! Attached is a picture of our first coral, a tiny kenya tree that has grown into a monster that is dropping branches like crazy!
