Welcome @Readytoreef to R2R. Read all the good information located on the site, ask questions, and definitely start a Member's Tank thread to document your upcoming build. Again, welcome!
Thanks everyone...I definitely will be documenting everything once up and running...this will be my first ever tank so I know knowledge is definitely key into running a successful reef tank...I was gonna settle for a ciclid tank but nothing compares to a beautiful saltwater tank...so set about researching.....I was in limbo and couldn't decide between a sumped tank and a aio...the benefits of a sumped tank and extra water volume swung me that way...I'm in the process of getting a custom 4ft by 2ft by 2ft tank made with black acrylic weir and black background with herbie style overflow...I'm gonna build custom white gloss stand..then see what space I have left for a custom sump...I plan on running a carbon rector and waterfall algae scrubber of the return I was gonna go for refugium but the scrubber seems good from reviews, the refugium section I'll house rector and skimmer along with some filter media...I'm looking to find some that can house copepods so after I cycle tank I can add some to tank and refugium area a couple weeks before I add fish so hopefully will give them chance to breed....I'm undecided on pump size and power heads at moment I need to do more research into correct sizes....I'm gonna go for 2 ocean revive lights....and I guess nutrient import and export and water parameters will come when I'm actually running tank and testing daily I'll get more of a understanding to controlling them....
Welcome to R2R ,good luck and success , your journey will be long and thwart with ups and downs .. successes and failures.. and we will all be along for the ride !! Your in good hands here !!! Patience is a virtue.. and good research your best friend !
