Hi there. I am brand new to saltwater. I have done freshwater stuff for 25 years, but I always liked the monster fish and don't have a spot in my house for a large tank, so I resorted to a pond outside :) I love it, but missed having a tank inside. So I finally made the scary jump to salt. Figure a good way to start the new year!

It is currently cycling and I have a Nero 3, lid, test kits, etc on order. I also have a RO/DI 5 stage coming from BRS. I don't want to lug jugs back and forth. Here it is so far. Oh, and this is how my dog protects me when it's raining :face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-tears-of-joy:

P.S. I've been lurking on this site for a while. Already have learned a lot!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Welcome to Reef2Reef. What kind of fishes do you have in the pond?

Right now, I just have happy big Wakin, Shubunkin, etc in the pond. I have a blue egg Phoenix in there as well. I have had it as a goldfish pond for about 4 years now. Before I heated it and had some tropical fish and bred some Black Widow Fontosas. I ended up with around 200 of them (by accident). I even put some Oscars (I know, they should not have mixed) to eat some front babies. They didn't. They all got along perfectly. I think that is the wonder of a pond. Had a Red Tail Giant Gourami in there too. Everyone just got along great. All of them started out at 1-2". Ended up with some Beasts....but the heating bill was just too much. Obviously the Blue Egg goldfish is a current resident and not mixed with the others. My Red Tail Gourami was around 17" not including the tail, the Front around 14", Oscars around 13". That was the best trio of Oscars. No fighting, they were just happy water dogs.
