Hi everyone... Im new to this forum and although my tank has been up and running for 4 years I am in the process of starting over. I didn't do as much research as I should have the first go around and while I had some success it just wasn't what I wanted. So now Im doing Lots of research and hoping this forum will help me along my way!

My tank is definitely a passion for me and it's exciting getting going again. I won't lie though I have two dogs that are both my passion and my obsession so don't be surprised if I reference them every once in a while as well ;-)

I look forward to getting going and meeting lots of fellow aquarists with common interests.

Oh guess I should have stated what Im working with...

I have an Aquapod 24 gallon made by current. I've recently been told it's been discontinued so that's a bummer.
Im it I gave a good amount of Live rock and a live sand bed. I recently added a skunk cleaner shrimp and a peppermint shrimp as well as 3 Astraea snails. I also have several mushrooms left from the first go around that have hung in there with the tank. Im working on getting them happy right now before I add anything else.

thanks

Welcome! Let's see a pic or two
What are your plans for the tank?

I will try to post a pic tonight when I get home... I have a 3 year old nephew and so I have been involving him with the set up this time. He had a blast picking out the two shrimp.

Im planning on eventually adding a royal gramma, a firefish, and an ocellaris clown (last). I know it's not too fancy but as I consider myself relatively new still I don't want to take on a fish that needs requirements I don't yet understand or have. I also hope to try and have a few more mushrooms and some zoas.

Sounds like a great tank
Good choices of fish. I like shrooms and zoas too....and a lot of the other softies as well. Some LPS don't scare me to much either LOL
I bet your nephew is having a so much fun 'helping'. I have been teaching our God son about SW. He hopes to set a tank up sometime this Fall.

I haven't had a lot of luck with the zoas sadly.... But Im really trying to get my lighting and water flow right because I think that may be my problem. I know my lighting is affecting my mushrooms right now. My parameters are all good and the only thing I haven't checked yet is Alkalinity but Im working on getting some test strips for that too.

Welcome, there's a lot of people from the Bay here. I am one, from Livermore lol. Of you don't mind me asking, what are some more details about your set-up? For example, lighting, filtration, skimmer, water source, equipment? Or are you using the stock equipment from your tank. This will determine your bio load and some other things you might want to focus on before you start into coral again. :nerd: Good luck and don't be shy to ask ANY questions.
