I've notice a couple of my birdsnest frags have been getting bald and found these guys, is this the cause?? Would appreciate it if i can get a quick ID and known facts about it, Experiences would be much appreciated! TIA!

it is a nudibranch and looks kinda like a montipora eating nudi to me but they only eat monti

Wow, yeah i've searched everyone and only found and heard about monti or Zoa eating nudi's. But these guys are tearin' up my Birdsnest (Seriatopora) only guys. Anyone have tips? Instructions perhaps on Lugols dipping treatment that you guys have done?

Green and yellow coris wrasses are well known nudi eaters.

Definitely a nudi. I would recommend manual removal, and a mix of dipping your birdsnest every few days.

What can Mabisyo add, other than fish, that can eat them?

The zoa eating nudibranch I had was evergreen in color and was not more than a 1/4 inch long. Could it be a Berghia nudibranch? Berghia's are often used in the killing of aiptasia, that is the only thing they eat. It's hard to tell by the picture, if it is a Berghia they are reef safe, unless you love aiptasia. I would post a link if I knew how, but just google berghia and there are tons for sale. There are pictures for identification, could you have a berghia?

Nah definitely not a berghia, these guys are definitely tearing up the BN. I killed a lot of them doing Lugols Dip, WOW were there TONS of them! and found eggs up the booty! :hammer: I wonder where they came from, had to chop up the colony and remove eggs in between REALLY SUCKS! They lay eggs just like berghia in a spiral manner. I was wishing that they were berghia :mad:

Hate em with a passion. they will destroy your montipora. Make sure you check them ofton as these suckers breed nad lay eggs all over the place. I had a bad problem with them last year and it took me months to get em cleared out of that system.
