Nice tank! Live plants work very well with a Betta. They basically become the filter in a small tank like that. The Bettas love cover and still water too. We have a Betta in a 6.5 gallon covered in Frogbit plants.

!!! Welcome to R2R Joshua !!! You remind me my first tank when I was a kid. Then I went with African Cichilds, Discus and once I new this forum and start learning that I can accomplish a saltwater fish tank, I jump on the journey and I'm a happy man with my beautiful reef tank thanks to R2R and all the information we got here.

Nice female Betta! I’ve always found them to be beautiful as well!

I used to keep my female or male bettas with a couple zebra danios or white cloud fish. Livened the tank up, and the zebra danios don’t need a heater. :)
