Hi I have this 112 gallon tank tuning for about a year it’s hard to see in the picture but it’s like all the rocks are covered in this hazy fuzz or slime with random brown stringy algae coming off some parts of the rocks. At first I thought it was all Dino’s because of the air bubble in the rocks but it seems a decent amount of the bubbles are gone as of a few days ago. My stock list is 3 clown fish a blotchy anthias a flame fin tommini tang a vey small royal gramma a very small diamond goby and a very small scooter blenny. I also have a few sps and lps corals.

It seems I am able to scrub of the brown string algae but the fuzz stays on for the most part. The fuzz is all over all the rocks and there is brown strongly algae all over but much more spread apart. I have no way to accurately measure low phosphate but my nitrates are under 2 but not quite 0

If you shine a flashlight on the underside of rocks, is it there too?

If you aren’t doing anything to lower phosphates my guess would be you got some phosphates. Nitrates seem real low. It could be dinoflagellates. You can get dino on top of algae. It’ll come and go with the cycle of light. It’s an imbalance in the tank that makes them able to out consume the “good guys” and take over. Do you have coral? If you don’t or have a small amount you could turn your lights off for a bit to tamp whatever that is back. Dino or algae need light.

I have corals and I bought a Hanna checker and my phosphates read 0.05 it seems to have grown drastically in the last 2 days double or even tripling in size also I can see more bubbles on the algae. For example I had this half dead acro from when I started the tank and the algae grew all over it in the past few days with bubbles all over it a little hard to see in the picture

How do you manage to keep three clownfish in your tank?? I thought they paired up and killed any others. This is good news.

Can only see mainly GHA, and something that could be dinoflagellates, what’s your current parameters?
