Hi, my name is Brandin, but you can call me boogie or Jigglets doesn't matter, I just find those to be funny words.
Well i've always wanted a saltwater tank as I live in the midwest but have a deep craving for the ocean. So after years of talking myself out of it (and my gf). I finally decided to take the plunge.
So after deciding on really the only place in my house the tank could go I went with a 55g. I've already made tons of newbie mistakes but its part of learning. like to start I went with all dead rock and sand as to start nice and fresh, and after doing some research looked like ATM colony and a firefish would be a great way to instantly start up a tank. Initally it seemed like the product worked like everyone had said so I added a pair of clowns.. and welp been adding ammolock and doing water changes daily for weeks now with minimal signs of and end to the ammonia. but I know it'll come. since these pictures i've also added a power head, Velcro'd the power strip to the wall and tied the power plugs together to avoid water getting where it shouldn't, and i've also added a seachem tidal filter.. omg that thing is amazing, I did modify the contents of it a lil with more seachem matrix and 2 polishing pads, but the thing works like a charm. Any suggestions are definitely welcome, my end game for this tank is some soft corrals, with basically the fish i have now, and 2 seahorses, hopefully the tank will be ready for those guys next year!
