Well I had high po4 due to excessive feeding of nori. Since stopped.
2 days ago po4 was at .24ppm. I bought a product containing lanthanum and dosed 2x.
Tested today at .5ppm.
Does that drop make sense?

Are u running rowa phos?

No quantum reef essentials. Aussie product. Active ingredient is lanthanum

Try dosing phosphat-e and running rowa phos. Taking dosing very slow because it can shock coral and must be monitored daily for a week

I had the same issue mine spiked out of nowhere to .54 and now they are at .1 so that stuff definitely does make a difference and it must be changed like every month

Without knowing the concentration or composition of the product it is difficult to know what to expect.

Assuming you meant 0.24ppm to 0.05ppm that could simply be the initial precipitation and I would expect Phosphate levels to climb again.

FWIW, I buy pure Lanthanum chloride in powder form and mix myself so that I know the exact concentration and exactly what I am dosing.

Quantum is a liquid. I dosed 2x

I dose 3ml of ATM AGENT GREEN (LACL) daily into my 500L (132G), kept my PO4 between 0.03-0.08ppm and I have a very heavy load of fishes. I prefer this over GFO for it's ease of control.

Lanthanum is much better than GFO IME. It works much better, and is much easier to use.

I also assumed that you meant drop to 0.05.
I used lanthanum chloride occasionally, usually add few ml to ATO container and drip it over a week or so into skimmer compartment. It is arguably the fastest and most potent method to lower phosphates, but fastest and most potent doesn't necessary mean the best.
Adjusting level of any nutrient or chemical in reef aquarium should be done gradually and slowly.

My exact sediment. Used to dose directly into skimmer neck, now it just goes straight into the Rollermat instead. 3ml spread out over 12 hrs after lights out.

I don't want to have to dose daily though. I'll back off on the nori to every other day or so

Yes I use it on small nanos lol a at first I was not sure but it does a great job sometimes too good a job so your figures have to be bang on when dosing. I think there is a product called phosphate E but I don’t know much about it but people have said that work but probably not cheap but L chloride is cheap as chips

tested today and PO4 was up to .1 from .05 yesterday. Works like a charm
What did you decide to go with. It’s going to creep up because of the phosphate leaching from rocks and sand

It was typically below .1 until I started feeding nori multiple times a day. I'm hoping going back to old feeding po4 will also go back without dosing.
Quantum reef essentials Phosphate remover is lanthanum. 2 doses dropped it to a more normal .1

I hope you're dripping into a filter sock and not just adding to the tank.

Nothing on the bottle says to do that
This is one reason why I do not recommend that particular brand.

They tend to mix up bottles of stuff and sell them without giving any explanation of how they work and how they should be used.

Lanthanum Chloride causes Phosphate to precipitate on contact.
The precipitate needs to be removed from the water column by filtration.

It says to use with a skimmer
I didnt see any precipitation?
