Hiding powerheads

Hello all, thinking of doing a 120 tall tank that is not drilled and I don't want to do a full sump just yet. I have a hob refugium and wanted to know if anyone has used an internal overflow box siliconed to the back of the tank without a drilled hole just to hide the powerhead feeding the refugium? I was thinking of a 700 gph one since the refugium only needs up to 150 gph. Just thought the internal overflow box would look better than seeing the powerhead. Also might fit an additional small powerhead in the same place to run a phosban reactor.

I haven't seen this done before, but I think it's a great idea. You probably only need a few dabs of silicone to hold it to the back wall, since you don't really need a watertight seal all the way around the edges.

If you don't already have one, you'll want to use an auto-topoff to make sure the water level doesn't drop below those overflow teeth.

It absolutely can be done. I have something similar with my old AquaC Remora skimmer called a prefilter box. As said just make sure to have an ATO. XPAqua makes an ATO setup specifically for tanks without a sump.
