High ALK Warning

So I am starting to dose Aquaforest 1+ 2+ 3+ on my small 32 g biocube. I want to set up a warning/safety measure in case my doser were to go bad & get stuck on.

So, say the doser were to go hay wire & get stuck dosing the ALK, what would be a good indicator / alarm? Does PH go up / down? Could I set my Apex to shut it off if the ALK reach a certain level?

If it got stuck dosing Cal or Mag, would these kill my coral/fish? Any indicator / alarm for this?

An increase in ph is usually associated with dosing alk buffers but the correlation isn’t so direct to use as a proxy. I guess you could prevent catastrophic cases by shutting off dosing if your ph is above a certain level but it may not always be due to alk...

You could also wait for the trident and buy that!

I might consider the trident for my large tank. This is a smaller lower budget tank, but it's growing my corals very well. So I'll need to start dosing soon. I don't want to spring for a GHL so I'm looking at a Jebao, and want to set my Apex (which runs both) up with some assurances.
