High Alk?

I'm not I don't have a RODI unit I get my water from a lfs

I'd want some assurance of the quality, like measuring the TDS myself, or seeing them measuring it at the store. Tap water can certainly have substantial alkalintiy in it. If you are confidence in the alk test on the LFS "pure water", I wouldn't use it.

so what should I do about the water having that high of alk?

You mean the tank itself? I’d probably let it decline on its own unless corals appear to be suffering.

Ok I have the new reagent from Hanna and I used it to test the distilled water I got today and it read as 0 dKH and when I mixed my salt it came up at 8.6 dKH, which is where it normally is so I think I found my problem.

Sounds good.

Happy reefing. :)

Well I test my tank water and it was 11.8 so in Friday I'm doing a 20 gallon water change and see if that will bring the tank water back to normal and thanks for all of your help [emoji4]
