High alkalinity??

Just to clarify for others. :)
Are you saying that you like the Red Sea - "Coral Pro" - mix and you reduce it down with the Reef Crystals to hit the dkh that you like?
To Randy's point, it can be trouble if you have higher Alk and ULNS or ultra low nutrient system and you're trying to keep SPS. I was using RS Coral Pro just fine until I had to go fallow for a while, which reduced the need to feed fish. My SPS suffered after a few weeks. Didn't happen right away. I changed to a lower Alk mix. I also run a calc reactor that keeps my Alk steady, which is more important. Please note that there are 2 RS salts, RS Coral Pro higher Alk in black bucket and regular Red Sea salt lower Alk in blue bucket. It is not a problem with RS, it is a matter of preference and your current situation. If your nutrients are low keep your Alk closer to NSW. When you shop for salt find out the published parameters (some are higher and some are lower) and purchase according to your situation. Test your mix before you put it in your tank. Adjust if necessary. Keep in mind if your situation changes you may need to slowly adjust..like my situation.

Yes,
I've used the RSCP as part of their SPS growth program in the past. It did work but the high alk will browned out their colors for the growth. During this period, I stopped any kind of carbon dosing. When I got the growth that I wanted, then I went back to normal parameters and my SPS colors came back.

If your carbon dosing at a high alk you need to keep your organics up with something like Reef Energy, so you do not get SPS burn.

If you want red sea salt at lower alk buy the blue bucket regular redsea not pro. Their alkalinity is between 7 to 8 when mix at 1.026
