High Ammonia, Calcium and Magnesium

Questions about parameters. Latest numbers for JBJ AIO 65. Calcium is 600 ppm and magnesium is 1800 ppm - a slight increase from previous weeks testing. I re-tested using Red Sea kits the Calcium was 480 ppm and Magnesium was 1600 ppm. Fish are active and eating, the corals (SPS and LPS) are colorful and open. Parameters where tested using Hanna Marine Master. I dose All for Reef -10 ml daily and Microbacter7 -5ml daily. Rest of parameters are:

Salinity 1.025

pH 8.3

Alk 11.2

Nitrate 1.6

Phosphate 0.18

Ammonia 0.11

Nitrite .032

Should I be concerned about these levels?

How old is the tank? How are you testing ammonia?

Must be nice to run a tank with these high water parameters and not have a large precipitation event. High magnesium ?

Probably happens !

Some of these numbers do not make sense to me ?

key details though he’s withholding details on the multiple forum posts: already stocked and running. That means it’s cycled and that means an nh4 reading of .11 is no harm and just the typical approximation from test kits. If it wasn’t cycled he couldn’t have multiple fish and corals / sps doing fine. I don’t believe any of the reported levels.

How old is the tank? How are you testing ammonia?

it’s an establish tank about a year old. I have a Hanna mult-test and Red Sea kits. It’s had a serious issue with Cyanobacteria for months finally starting to get that under control with weekly water change and siphoning; dosing with Mb7, KZ Coral Snow and Cyano Clean. I’m going to retest everything tomorrow, see if numbers a consistent.

I agree. No worries. I asked about ammonia test because the zero point might be tricky to judge. It seems your critters are also giving you a thumbs up on conditions.

I understand what your saying regarding the numbers. The prior 3 weekly tests were consistent-both calcium and magnesium numbers were within BRS suggested levels and the ammonia was still around the same range as today. Appreciate your insights.
