Hi guys
I was doing a normal maintenance day on my tank and in doing so I did my chem tests and I noticed that my ammonia was pretty high. With all honesty I hadn't checked that parameter in awhile so it took me by surprise to see it on 2 ppm.
How can this affect me?? Can this be the reason why some of my lps aren't opening?? My zenias are not pulsating either. Can someone toss me some light on this matter??
Thanks
The Zen Panda

how old is your testing chemicals ?? also sometimes if you stirred up the crap in the sump you can get a reading

Tank is about 6 years old and I had just cleaned the glass of coraline. The date on the test is 06/2018 from ALI

If there's a decaying fish, ammonia might be real. Almost never is there problematic ammonia in an established reef otherwise.

If you think it is real and not going down, I'd treat the tank with something like Prime to keep the toxic ammonia levels down while looking for the problem,
