HIGH Calcium, whats my problem

My calcium keeps reading through the roof. I do not add calcium and I do not run a calcium reactor. I add alkilinity like crazy to try and keep my Alk at 10.0 but my calcium keeps reading 600+ what the heck is going on? anybody got a clue?

It is an established tank 3 years running. Plenty of SPS I use ocean pure salt

if your Alk at 10 I'm betting test kit is bad eithier Alk or cal test kit

What kit are you using and have you tried another to compare?

Salifert had ca test kits that had a false high reading a little while back...

i have exactly the same issue and my kits a salifert... i recently lost a fair bit of stuff to hurricane ike, so theres not much in there, not running a Rx have been dosing occasionally with kalk but im over 600??? thing is im not getting calcium deposits which d expect from a ca that high,though i dont know for sure... so im assuming a kit problem, a factor in this is that my colour vision is poor tho but the kits pretty easy to use and i dont think thats affecting the result

What are the levels you are getting for Calcium? Also the test kit. There is an article on verifying Ca test kit, maybe give that a shot.
