High calcium

What’s “high”? There’s a plethora of reasons.. but there’s a balance between your DKh levels vs calcium and also ,magnesium levels. Do you know the numbers to those tests?

I have a master api test kit.with none of those test kits im going to the store tomorrow for those. I do water changes and have a skimmer.but my cal levels are like 540

What type of salt are you using and what is your tank salinity at? Have you dosed anything?

I honestly wouldn’t trus the API kit, they are horribly inaccurate. If the store has them, get the Red Sea kit for calcium, mag, and dkh. Salifert is another good brand too.

I wouldn’t worry about unless it’s snowing in your tank.

I have instant ocean reef salt.the store does have salifert! (Lfs). The salinity is 1.023

At 1.023 and not dosing I doubt you’re that high so I’d confirm with another test kit. But even if it is, nothing to worry about at the moment and should balance out once you know where you alkalinity-DKh and magnesium is at. As the other poster said, unless you see it precipitating “snowing” in the water column you’re ok for now.

So the lfs gave me some reef buffer to raise it.like it was really low in the 5s

Where were you before i bought the supplement lol but that's a good future reference

I just did a dose how far apart should i wait to do another dose with the buffer
