Hi all,

I took a reading with my salifert testing kit and my Calcium came in at around 530. My alk is around 8.8-9dKH and salinity is about 1.028 (Both higher than I would like). I recently hooked up an Apex doser that doses 25ml of alk & calc daily (RedSea A & B solutions). Everything I have read online tells me that I should not stop dosing the calcium without stopping the dosing of the alkalinity. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to mitigate this high calcium? Should i simply just stop the dosing of the calcium?

Additionally, my display is a 72g bowfront, and total water volume with sump is around 95g. I also do a 10g water change weekly with synthetic salt I pick up from my local fish store.

Thank you!
Tom

Cut the dosing back to say 22 ml and watch the alk. Remove 1/2 gallon of tank water and replace with rodi every day until salinity is 1.026.
I wouldn't react to 530 except to adjust your dosing.
