Got my Triton test back and have "dangerously high Cobalt levels"
What to do?

While that level is well above normal Co levels in seawater, it is well below the toxic levels shown for marine organisms in this summary by The world Health Organization. That doesn’t mean it isn’t toxic to something, but it the tank isn’t suffering, it may not be.

It might be removed by products like metasorb, but that depends on the actual form Present.

Alright perfect! Would there be any downsides to running metasorb either way?

I dont think it would be a problem. Did you notice any problems in your tank?

it will take out metals, whether they are high or already in short supply. So the downside is removing things you may want.

Not really any problems, other than a couple mushrooms bleaching then dissapearing. But I also have almost no nitrates so not sure what it was that caused it

Id focus on nitrate first.

Why not just change water? There are many calculators - unless you have a source of cobalt that is leaching from somewhere? The calculators will tell you how many water changes to do - to get the cobalt down xxxx percent. In any case - assuming you're using a good salt - It won't hurt the tank.

Just switched to tropic Marin from reef crystals which i know isnt the greatest, so we will see how that does. I appreciate all the great advice everyone

I have been doing pretty good sized waterchanges so after a little while I'll send in another ICP
