I bought a container of Aquaforest reef salt from fostersmith this past November and I'm on my 4th water change and noticed my sps went on a decline and bleached some died since I started using this salt. I bought an API kh kit and it said kh was 12-13. So I went to 2 local pet stores and both used 2 different tests and got the same results. The certificate that comes with the salt said the batch is from Jan 2016 and 7.7dkh.

Anyway to fix this?

Which kits they exactly used? What are your other parameters Ca, Mg, NO3 and PO4? Which light you use and intensity if LED.

Tests were a mix of red sea pro kits and a Hannah alk meter. Calcium around 410-420, mag 1350, phos 0.03 and no3 around 10. Coral Compulsion 24w 20k led no optics 3 inches from surface on an 11 inch tall tank.

So error on my part I was using regular filtered water instead of distilled or rodi. I bought distilled water today tested and it came out to 8 dkh so faults on me.
