Just had an idea! You could design some with flow holes in them so they can be placed in a tank. With an interchangeable tinted lid so light acclimation would be as simple as changing the top half as needed

Pretty nice idea! But like asked earlier will this thing be water tight? I would think that just simply adding a rubber O ring around the lid would make it so.

This will never work, you won't be able to get enough water in there with the design as it is now. Need a shallower lid and taller base. Needs to clamp and be water tight some how, and seem like a lot of cost for something a dixie cup and baggie can do.
