I know that,that's why I was thinking to bring it up if there is any benefit

No benefit, it's fine

My mag is 1500 on my mixed reef at last test. Natural seawater is just about 1300. Proper levels of Mg help to stabilize calcium and alkalinity, and some say higher levels may reduce some types of nuisance algae.
