High N03/P04 kill macros?

Would adding macro algae to a newly cycled tank with high nitrates feed/fuel the macro or have the opposite effects and cause it to die or go sexual?

As long as there is phosphates and nitrates the algae should do well? Have you encountered any issues with yours?

No I plan on purchasing some tomorrow but didn’t want to waste money if they wouldn’t do well.

What sixty_reefer said. Are you putting them directly in the tank, or in a fuge/sump? Macro can really benefit from light acclimation too, as some will burn white if exposed to too much light too quickly. Just keep testing your phosphate/nitrates, as they can suck it up readily and cause your levels to drop faster than you might think...

It’s going directly into the display tank that was recently cycled with fitz and nitrocycle. Ammonia is showing on api test which is expected and nitrates are above 80ppm according to api even after large water change. I want display macro and photosynthetic gorgonians. Few select lps/zoas not super interested in sps.
