I am going to in the morning . Fed them already today so tomorrow will soak some mysis with metro and focus.I am thinking the same thing. I would start adding metroplex to the food right away since the fish are eating well.

When focus and metro is combined with frozen cube , basically let the mysis thaw out and the 2 combine into the mysis for a half hour. Can or should it be refrozen.
Got it. 3 days. So after each feeding , does it get refrozenNo, don't refreeze it. I usually mix it into a shot glass then feed that until it's gone. Of course, you might not have enough fish to do this in a timely manner. I would toss it after 3 or 4 days and make a new batch.
Because I don't have enough fish to use all at onceGot it. 3 days. So after each feeding , does it get refrozen

Ok . I will try tomorrow . I just Checked on them , neither have white stringy poop right now At all. Is there ever any other cause what so ever , maybe change of food? Also can I use the vita chem with metro and focus .No, don't freeze it. Just keep it in the fridge and use it for a few days. Discard and make a new batch.

High Nitrates can cause "Nitrate Blindness" in fish.
When I mix the focus metro and water and vita chem , should it more pasty , or watery. I made some mysis with these and it was watery. Soaked for 20 minutesNope. Stringy poop won't be there all the time. They arn't constantly pooping, but you'll see it again for sure. Yes you can use vitachem with the meds in the food. That's a great idea![]()
I've seen it happen in a friend's tank. For the record... I've only seen one study on this (done on FW fish), where the nitrate level was 200 ppm.

I've been treating with metro and focus the clowns and gramma . As of today , the gramma looks like this.. Will metro take care of bacterial infection. At this point not sure if it's improving yet . But will keep treating .My reef just was tested for nitrates at an LFS and they are 160. All of my paired fish are and have been spawning for many years including the 25 year old fireclowns so I doubt nitrates have anything to do with it. (They also have 20/20 vision)
It is hard to diagnose your fish from here so I will let Meredith attempt that as she seems to be doing a good job.
Your Royal Gramma obviousely has a bacterial infection but it was probably caused by something besides bacteria. Your tank looks very new and I don't know what you are feeding these fish.
For the bacterial infection I personally would use Neomycin 250mg/gal and Chloramphenicol sodium succinate 20mg/gal but you probably can't get these drugs unless you know a pharmacict or Vet. Again, the bacterial infection is from something else but if it makes you feel any better. These problems are very common (if not unfortunate) in a new tank with fish that are not fed correctly.
These clowns don't seem to care about nitrates.

I have QT setup now , catching this guy is going to be a job in itself ! Where can I get those antibiotics ?I don't think food soaking is going to fix that. I would QT and treat with a proper antibiotic such as Kanaplex or Furan-2. Or Melafix might help, but I can't recommend dosing that into your DT.

I'll be buying those ASAP. Probably order today or tomorrow but I'll call local stores to see if they have in stock first. Any suggestions how to catch him.I don't think food soaking is going to fix that. I would QT and treat with a proper antibiotic such as Kanaplex or Furan-2.
