High nitrates

Their according to my test kit my nitrates are through the roof at 100ppm I’m doing water changes to help but out of a protein skimmer and refugium which will help more to bring nitrates down
Tank size: 15 gallon
Stock: one clownfish, one azure Damsel and one hermit crab.
Ph: 8.1
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0

I would test a couple times plus if you do a water change and your test kits cannot pick up the difference on that small of a tank then there is a test kit problem.

I’m using the API saltwater master test kit and my tank is around a year and 2 months old

I’m gonna replace carbon with more bio balls
