high nitrite

my tank have high nitrite how do I lower it down? Just water change?

First question would be whether your tank is already established or if you're establishing a cycle.

I run the tank about 1year already . Haven't done water change about half year

There should be no NitrItes....NitrAtes on the other hand could be high

If that's the case I'd guess that something died and is being processed. Was it just nitrite? Or hints of ammonia and nitrite?

My guess is testing error. But in any case, it isn't a problem.

Nitrite is never high enough in an established reef tank to be any concern.

If that's the case then I think Randy is onto the right track. If you're using API test kits, they are notorious for giving false positives especially for nitrite.

Second test kit check...maybe at a LFS...then larger water change if it is correct.

How old is your tank? Very unusual to have any nitrite in an established tank....
